Why solve this problem?
Our current public/private tech stack is broken....large centralized data monopolies, anti-social algorithms, rent seeking financial institutions....all with huge negative externalities for society and individuals. We think Web 3 can be a bottom up counterbalance leading to a better Internet for everyone.
